The Student Union, also known as the student government, serves as the voice and representative body for the vibrant UNYT student community across all facets of student life. Functioning as a direct communication channel with the UNYT Administration, the Student Union not only addresses the needs and concerns of the student body but also enhances the overall student experience through the organization of diverse events, trips, parties, tournaments, and more. Our overarching goal extends beyond organizing students for specific objectives; it is to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among students, creating a healthy and friendly environment.
The Student Union is the conduit through which individual students' voices resonate with the UNYT Administration. While students can express their concerns through other channels, the Student Union stands as the most effective structure to represent the community's collective voice. We are dedicated to supporting every student initiative aimed at improving student life. The House of Representatives, comprised of representatives from each major at UNYT, ensures direct and regular contact between students and their government, providing an avenue for shared needs and desires to be heard.
Beyond its role as a representative body, the Student Union is committed to organizing a spectrum of social and academic events that contribute to a vibrant and diverse student life. While we take the initiative in event organization, we welcome new ideas and suggestions from the student community. We aim to offer various activities, ranging from debate competitions to hiking trips in the mountains. In our view, being a student is not merely a learning experience but a life experience.
Every student with an idea or project is encouraged to reach out to us, as the Student Union has the authority to establish special ad hoc committees dedicated to specific projects. The Executive Board is enthusiastic about supporting students in bringing their ideas and projects to life. We welcome complaints and needs, as they present opportunities to enhance student life in various aspects.
As the government of the students, the Student Union strives to maintain continuous contact with the community and individuals. The Executive Board and the House of Representatives are open to receiving input, feedback, and suggestions. Students can express their needs directly to these structures, as their schedules (including meeting hours) will be prominently displayed on the door of the Student Union Office and communicated via email. Your requests, desires, ideas, and feedback form the core of our activities, so do not hesitate to contact us whenever the need arises.
Annually held in May, elections for the positions of the Executive Board provide every student with the right to vote and run for any board position, provided they meet the requirements.
