Bachelor of Design in Interior Design
About
The Bachelor of Design with a profile in Interior Design is a three-year program offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture - Department of Architecture and Design. It provides a comprehensive education in interior design, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for the demands of modern interior design.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the First Cycle Study programs is possible for any candidate who has successfully completed the Secondary Education and meets the average grade criterion set annually by the Council of Ministers decision in accordance with Article 74 of Law no. 80/2015 on 'Higher Education'.
Learning Outcomes
- Master interior design methods and techniques that combine aesthetics with functionality.
- Develop strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to address contemporary design challenges through hands-on projects and teamwork.
Graduation Requirements
To be eligible for graduation, students must earn a minimum of 144 ECTS credits. Once they reach this threshold, they are in a graduation position and may register for one additional course, regardless of their GPA. However, this additional course must fall within the maximum limit of 45 ECTS credits per semester.
Occupational Opportunities
Graduates of the Interior Design program can pursue careers as interior designers in the residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. They may also find opportunities in furniture design, exhibition design, and retail design. In addition, roles in project management, staging, and styling, as well as nontraditional paths such as set design and visual merchandising, are available. The program also prepares graduates for entrepreneurial ventures in the interior design industry.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the Interior Design program may pursue advanced study in specialized master's programs in interior architecture, sustainable design, or furniture design. Opportunities for advanced study abroad are also available. In addition, interdisciplinary programs in design management and technology offer unique opportunities for continuing education.
