I had a dream and UNYT and the Erasmus program made it come true!
Hello everyone!
My name is Brixhilda Noka, I am a 20 years old girl from a small city of Albania called Lezha. I have been studying for the last three years at the University of New York in Tirana, the best university in Albania. There I spent three wonderful years full of knowledge, friends, happiness and of course, lots of opportunities. On the 23rd of January, I started one of the most beautiful adventures of my life. I had the privilege to study in one of the best universities in Granada, Spain, by participating in the Erasmus program.
Granada is a beautiful city in the south of Spain with a rich culture and history. Hundreds of people visit Alhambra Palace every day – one of the most beautiful sites in Granada. There are a lot of other historic places to visit, like the big cathedral which is the centre of the city. To travel to Granada, I took a flight from Albania to Italy, then one to Madrid, and after that, I took the bus to Granada.
You may be asking yourself, is Granada worth that long arduous journey? I would argue that yes, very much so. I am currently studying at the Faculty of Science and Economy, which is very large, so it took me a while to get used to. The professors are very competent, careful that I understand everything they’re explaining. Truthfully, in the beginning, I encountered difficulties, even though I know the Spanish language since people here talk very fast and it wasn’t easy to understand everything. I would be lying if I said Erasmus was easy for me in the first days here because this was my first time living away from home and family, but now that I have been living for one month here, I feel very happy with life in Spain. People are very friendly and I have made a lot of friends. I can’t wait to enjoy all the things life still reserves for me in this amazing country.
I had a dream and the University of New York of Tirana and the Erasmus program made it come true. Thank you!
