The value of employee well-being in the workplace. The new radar of the organizations!
Besmira Lahi PHD held an academic seminar with UNYT professors, colleagues and students upon recent research findings regarding the value of the employees’ wellbeing in the workplace.
The research findings, stemming from a qualitative research design provided that the lack of employees’ wellbeing leading to psychological disorders and mental health problems affects the individual and the organization at the same time in terms of loss costs, medical treatment, absenteeism at work, low effectivity and productivity, loss of pleasure and destroyed relationships.
Wellbeing is manifested from the inside out and vice versa and it is very sensitive to the change due to the power individuals have to experience, memorize and learn. Therefore it is further stimulated the usage of instruments to empower employees’ wellbeing in the workplace contributing to making people happy and flourishing at work and at their homes.
The academic seminar was closed with recommendations for further investigating these issues within a multidisciplinary team of researchers including psychologists, psychiatrists, lawyers, economists, etc.
