It is an honor for me to welcome you all to the Opening Ceremony of University of New York Tirana for the new academic year 2019-2020.
UNYT is the best University in Albania, for many reasons:

UNYT is the first private University in Albania,
It is the most international University providing English Language Teaching,
It is the only university providing its students with a dual degree in collaboration with SUNY/ESC in the USA and Greenwich University in the UK.
We nurture diversity, respect, understanding of each other’s differences
This is a leading university in international cooperation with many active MoU with High-Level Universities, from Europe, the US and Turkey.

As of 2018, UNYT is a part of One Great Education family in the world – the Turkish Maarif Foundation.
There is no doubt now, UNYT is more powerful and more international under the Maarif umbrella! We are now part of a family of 300 schools and more than 30.000 students from 35 different countries.
As the Rector of this University, it’s a great honor to also share just a few pieces of information with you today, so you could feel the future plans and perspective of UNYT:

UNYT will surely become the most Research-Oriented University (We are running many EU projects, Jean-Monnet projects, Balkan Research Center and European Research Center)
Member of EUA (European University Association ) and BUA (Balcan University Association)
We’ll surely be a Student-Oriented University (with our Dean of Students, Student Clubs) and with an Alumni Center now as well – many Social Activities, Sports, Arts, Music and so on, await us!
We’ll have some unique Departments or unique programs – projects
We’ll be in close cooperation with the leading industries to implement a more L&P – Learn and practice approach
Worth mentioning some very successful collaborations that are supporting our students and this university towards an elite level of teaching such as BKT, YTB and Lufthansa Industry Solution.
