Guest lecture with Arjeta Dhima, first Albanian ventriloquist!
Students of Introduction to Speech Communication class at UNYT had the honour and pleasure to have as guest speaker the first Albanian ventriloquist, Arjeta Dhima. After being presented with a short theoretical part on the Art of Public Speaking, students had the opportunity to engage in several practical exercises aiming at minimizing stage fright in public, focusing attention in speech delivery and using body language for a maximum impact with audiences.
Additionally, students had a Q&A session with Arjeta, in which they asked about the role and importance of public speaking in Albania, especially in the business market and first job’ interviews.
Afterwards they witnessed Arjeta’s skills in ventriloquism and were presented with one of her best and most recent performances. Arjeta is the first and only ventriloquist in Albania and among very few in the Balkans and Europe, that practice this art.
This lecture was very beneficial for students in providing them with practical tips and exercises to improve their speech delivery skills and become better speakers
