UNYT Law department organized a workshop

On May 20 and 21, 2024 UNYT Law department organized a workshop on the topic “Non-Discrimination and Segregation in Albanian Schools” at the premises of the University of Korça “Fan S. Noli” with students from teaching-related programs of the same university and its’ own law students.

In aiming to raise awareness among Korça’s actual and future teachers and provide an insightful experience for the law students, the workshop was based on two previous activities conducted by the same department, following the ECtHR decision in X and Others v. Albania, which found that Albanian authorities failed to implement desegregation measures at the secondary school “Naim Frashëri” in Korça.
The support of the Head of the Department of Education from the University of Korça, Dr. Albina Pajo, made possible the successful implementation of this workshop.

Along with the Workshop, UNYT Law students and academic staff had the opportunity to meet and exchange their views with the representative of the Commissioner Against Discrimination in Korça, Mrs. Etleva Tare.
Beside the curricular activities, students visited the National Medieval Museum which is unique on its own in Albania and withholds artefacts of immense value and beauty.
