UNYT and Turkish Language Institute Forge New Partnership with Comprehensive MoU

In a significant step towards strengthening the relationship, the University of New York Tirana (UNYT) has signed another momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Turkish Language Institute (TLI) at the institute’s main premises in Ankara, Turkiye. The agreement aims to foster collaboration in various areas, including joint symposiums, cultural exchange activities, language teaching, research, and so forth.
The MoU, signed by Prof. Dr. Osman Mert, the President of the Turkish Language Institute, and Prof. Dr. Ali Gunes, the UNYT’s Rector, outlines the key objectives of the partnership:
* Joint Symposium organization: The TLI and UNYT will work together to organize joint symposiums/conferences on Turkish Language and Literature and Turkish cultural heritage in the Balkans, Turkiye, and elsewhere.
* Teaching Materials and Books: The TLI promises to supply Turkish language teaching materials and books from its publications to UNYT, its newly established Turkish Language and Literature program, and a professional master program in Turkish language teaching to help the students attending these programs.
* Teacher Training: The TLI will provide training and professional development opportunities for Turkish language teachers at UNYT, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality instruction.
* Research Collaboration: The two institutions will collaborate on research projects related to the Turkish language, literature, and culture, contributing to the academic understanding of the Turkish language and its impact on the Balkans and worldwide.
* Cultural Exchange: The partnership will promote cultural exchange between Türkiye and Albania, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.
Prof. Dr. Osman Mert, the President of the Turkish Language Institute, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to partner with the University of New York Tirana to expand Turkish language education in Albania. This agreement will provide Albanian students with valuable opportunities to learn Turkish and connect with Turkish culture.” Prof. Dr. Ali Gunes, the UNYT’s Rector, also emphasized his happiness about the MoU, saying, “this MoU will enable the students in the programs above to access high-quality Turkish language courses taught by experienced instructors. The MoU will serve as a testament to the growing recognition of the Turkish language as a valuable asset in international communication and business.
